A fallen leader. A stolen legacy. A secret power.
When Gongore came to power preaching unity, Kelorne’s faction crumbled. Ten years later, whispers of a secret power in the north spark his obsession, and his chance for revenge. But the path he follows will uncover Rumithia’s buried past… and decide its future, for good or ill…
I’m hoping to publish my debut novel Traitor’s Eye in 2026. It’s based in the fantasy fictional land of Rumithia and follows the story of Kelorne, a former faction leader, who was replaced by a man named Gongore.
“He’s brought peace because the people think they have peace, and they worship him for it. In reality, he’s gained power over them, and represses them with their own deluded beliefs.”
That’s Kelorne’s view on the people of Rumithia in the reign of Gongore. Kelorne was at the height of his power when Gongore arrived preaching unity, and with the weight of history on his side, displaced Kelorne.
Kelorne never got over how his followers abandonded him, and how Gongore destroyed his legacy, believing Gongore betwitched his people.
10 years on, he reads a book about how an old tyrant was defeated by a strange power in a northern terriorty. He becomes obsessed with finding out what power lies there and whether it offers the key to challenge Gongore and finally get his revenge.
His journey unviels a long lost history of Rumithia and offers him a path to change the course of Rumithia’s destiny, for good or for ill.
Traitor’s Eye is a prequel to an as-yet-unnamed trilogy, and serves as a prelude for the first book of the trilogy, Gongore’s Prophecy.
