Discover The Giant Dynasty: A New Epic Fantasy
This will be the first official release, the first book that I publish, the first Chronicle of Rumithia. This story came to life in an online notebook I have as world-built and mapped out timelines and events as mere lists, to explain Rumithia before and after Traitor’s Eye.
Why I wrote the Giant Dynasty

I didn’t initially intend to write this story, I was happy with it living as a list in my notebook, acting as a feeder to provide rich historical information for my first novel, but not necessarily needing to live by itself. However, the more I looked at it and thought about its intricacies, the more I thought that it could live by itself as a story. So, I bit the bullet and went for it, furiously writing away in the last few weeks of 2025, before finishing it at the beginning of January 2026.
I did so for two reasons:
Firstly, it holds a sentimental place in my mind, as creating this story gave me a eureka moment for Traitor’s Eye, a key justifier for Kelorne’s major journey to the north. Before, I’d written in earlier drafts that Kelorne spontaneously decided to go north, and while I felt at the time it worked, it was really quite weak as a justification. This creation of a backstory made me think, yes! That’s it, this now is the key motivation and reason I need to kick off the events of Traitor’s Eye. I then wrote it into the book and suddenly, a story that hung together with the loosest of justifications suddenly looked like it had real strength and depth.
Secondly, of all the notes I wrote, this seemed like the most convertible material to turn into a story. It’s full of dynasty, politics, games of succession as well as fantasy myth. While you don’t need to read this to read Traitor’s Eye (when it eventually comes out) it will enrich your knowledge and understanding of Rumithia.

The Significance of the Dynasty
I will set the scene for you. Rumithia has just been through its first age, an age of great change and brutal wars that left the world markedly changed as it entered into its Second Age. That too, started with great disruption, with the passing of Mother Gyi to the land of the Gods, leaving behind the Guardians, rulers of the superior races to rule in her stead. However, with Gyi gone, they are riven by great divisions. This is where The Giant Dynasty starts.
Andros, the human Guardian summons Alitek the first-born son of Alitek the Guardian to meet with him in Rithagow, where he tells him the fate of his father. The age of the Guardians is brought to a close, and a new power emerges in Rumithia; the Giant Dynasty. The story follows the tale of Alitek, son of the Guardian Alitek “Giantfather,” and the reader sees the Giant Dynasty through his eyes:
“A father is dead. A Guardian stands before his son, blood on his hands.

When Alitek answers the summons to Rithagow, he expects to stand before his father. Instead, he finds Andros – the last of the Guardians – waiting with a confession that ignites a century of consequence. The fragile peace between humans and giants, maintained through blood oath and hard compromise, now rests entirely on whether Alitek can master his rage long enough to think.
What follows is a world of shifting allegiances, whispered plots, and power seized by those too impatient to earn it. As Alitek navigates the treacherous politics of a dynasty that was supposed to be his, he begins to understand that trust is the most dangerous thing a giant can offer, and the bonds of family are anything but secure.
And then there is the north.
Beyond the borders of the known world, something stirs in Vengore. Ancient. Patient. Hungry. For a long time it has sat dormant, but the giants of Rumithia are about to give it exactly the invitation it needs.“
